It seems that Spring is finally here, or that’s what it feels like here in East Tennessee. The trees are beginning to blossom and I can finally see some green poking through the brown and grey winter earth. I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally see color again!
As an intern for HGTV (headquartered in Knoxville) I get exposed to some great opportunities, one of them including being involved in their Color-of-the-Month proposal meeting for their blog, Design Happens. For April I proposed the color, Magnolia.
You can check out the article here – I even got a special mention (!!!)
Magnolia is a beautiful shade of pink – a pale, blushy hue with white undertones. The color aligns well with the pastel trend dominating this Spring. It’s been all over the Spring/Summer 2014 runway shows and has been showing up more in interiors. It compliments very well with neutrals and other pastels but for added boldness you can pair it with copper and brass, which are also still trending.
