diy clay emoji magnets

this weekend i went a little diy magnet crazy, i made a bunch for the fridge including these super cute emoji ones. i don’t think emoji stuff will ever get old (or at least hope they don’t!!) – those faces are just too funny! they’re simple to make and it’s hard not to smile when making them 🙂

here’s what you’ll need:

  • bright yellow clay
  • circular magnets
  • paint pen markers in white, black, blue and pink/red

simply soften up the clay in your hand and roll into ball. place on a flat surface and roll out flat with a rolling pin. i wouldn’t make it too thin, mine ended up being probably around 3/16″ thick which i thought made it look nicer. i used a small (about 1″) circle cookie cutter to cut the clay which ended up being a really great size – you can make them as big or as small as you want though!

i then placed them on a sheet of wax paper on a cookie and baked according the instructions on the packaging. once done – shouldn’t be more than a few minutes – let them cool and draw your favorite emoji faces. if you’re nervous about doing straight marker to clay then use a pencil to lightly draw on the clay first then add marker next.

once the marker has dried then use a hot glue gun to attach the magnet to the back and voila! put them on the fridge and leave expressive notes to your rookie, everything is more fun with an emoji 😉 these are also great to add to your locker for all you back to school folks out there!

These are so fun! I love a quick and easy project – and I love emojis! I think my most used one is the winky sticking out tongue face 🙂
