friday five: adding seasonal greenery (no green thumb required!)

my home is in an ongoing process of layering in my new purchases with sentimental treasures and creating little special moments that make me smile. the other day i noticed that i was missing a key ingredient… greenery! i’m always nervous about plants because i have the blackest thumb i’ve ever known. i’ve even managed to kill an air plant…that needs air to live. go figure. but adding plants to your home is a wonderful way to add life and personality. with the season turning before my eyes i’m searching for a way to bring the outside in to last me through the colder months, something that even i can take care of 😉

i love this simple but super pretty diy. i want to start scouring the ground to create my own mini forest or winter scene plus i can only imagine the wonderful smell of pine it would bring into my home!

this plant had me at ‘no green thumb required.’ these amaryllis bulbs are self sustaining and are ground-ready but i like how the wax covered bulbs themselves become little holiday sculptures.

i’ve always wanted to have a terrarium. i love the combination of sculptural art and greenery. growing up we would always collect seashells from our family vacations and it would be so nice to display it in here

i love this fall leaf garland AND i don’t even have to leave my yard for the supplies! it would look really neat to create an ombre effect with the changing colors or as a nice centerpiece for my thanksgiving.

i love bottlebrush trees! they’re another simple but stunning diy and adds a touch of whimsey to your holiday scene. stick with greens for a classic scene or mix it up with pink, yellows and blues to coordinate with a color scheme

what are your go-to ways to add seasonal greenery to your home?
