st. patricks day is also crazy close (ahem…tomorrow) and i feel like i’m too late in posting. but if you need a last minute outfit choice for the festivities i may got ya covered. i’ve only recently started ‘celebrating’ these past couple of years. st pattys is one of steve’s favorite holidays so i’ve been making a bigger deal about it for the past couple of years. it’s filled with friends, head to toe green and lots of ‘merriment,’ if you know what i mean 😉 we take off work and have a great time, although, admittedly the day after is a bit…tough to get through.
this year i wanted to really amp up the spirit with a fun fashion diy. it’s simple but so cute and i’m excited to wear it out.
i pretty much wear the same green sweater every year, a comfy zara knit i bought a couple of years ago. honestly it’s getting a little loved but rather than pitch it i wanted to give it a second life with…. sequin clover elbow patches!
you will need:
to help figure out the correct placement for the patches i put on the sweater first and marked out with drafting tape the ideal edges where the patches would hit.
then, lay the shirt out flat. apply glue to the back of the patch and place in desired spot. it takes awhile to dry and i would suggest using a clothespin or some kind of clip to clamp down the edges to make sure it adheres. and voila!
i am so pleased with how it came out! it’s so tempting to want to put patches on everything too, definitely brainstorming more patch diys.
enjoy the festivities out there! what are some of your favorite ways to show st pattys day spirit?
